Tattoo Care

Aftercare Instructions

Liquid Dial Gold antibacterial soap
Palmer's Cocoa Butter solid jar
Organic Coconut Oil

***

Keep clean and hydrate until skin is ready to peel. By then you can leave it dry and protect dead skin until it is finished peeling. Wash twice daily or more when necessary. Each wash use hot water, rinse with cold then briefly air dry. Use Palmer's cocoa butter or oils as needed even after it's healed.

Plastic Wrap

Keep bandage on overnight until your first wash in the morning. After brief air dry, use Palmer's cocoa butter and re-wrap in plastic. Use clear medical tape and keep on tight until your next wash. Repeat for 2 to 3 days and nights. Do not let it dry or air out until you are done with the plastic and the skin is ready to peel.

Derm Shield

For this, or any type of adhesive bandage, make sure to test patch away from your tattoo prior to your appointment. You can find out if you're allergic using clear medical tape as well. Please consider purchasing your own roll for large projects, or a personal pack for small tattoos. Janet provides it otherwise. Leave it on airtight for 3 to 5 days. Rewrap only if the seal breaks in the first 48 hours and contact Janet. Otherwise, do not rewrap. If damage or leak occurs, remove when you are able to properly wash. If extra protection is needed for rough jobs, animals and children, crowds or outdoors; leave bandage on for no longer than 6 to 7 days maximum.

Reminder:

No sun
No swimming or submerging
No working out
No touching without washing hands

Scar Treatment

I have a trick we came up with to flatten, heal and minimize scarring for an emergency situation many years ago and it has worked incredibly for many people ever since! Ask me or discuss in a consultation if you have questions about my scar treatment.

·Manuka Honey

·Red Mill organic baking soda

·Dr. Bronner's liquid soap, travel size available

·Vitamin E oil and/or coconut oil

***

Always use quality products for best results. Treat your scar for one week then take a break for a week. You can repeat the process as needed to repair damaged tissue and restore healthy skin. Do not overuse and allow breaks from exfoliation. Feel free to ask if you have any questions!

Soak the scar in manuka honey and secure it with plastic wrap and clear medical tape every night for one week. You can also order manuka honey strips online for areas difficult to keep wrapped. Each morning scrub the baking soda into the honey to help exfoliate dead skin. Wash with any scent Dr. Bronner's liquid soap. Please tell me if you have other healthy soaps you prefer. Use Coconut oil and/or Vitamin E oil to help lightly moisturize.
